VVVVVV is a game nearly as paradoxical as the time and space bending laboratory its set in. Its name is impossible to pronounce, its a platformer without jumping. Its brutally difficult in parts but incredibly forgiving. Its got hillarious meta jokes and less emotional depth than a children’s bed time story.
But for all its seeming contradictions, its a short, punchy and fun adventure! Over on Moses’ (aka @theWellRedMage) podcast, Pat was lucky enough to be invited to sing the praises of this wonderful indie title from 2011. Along the way they get into discussions on the indie scene at large and the difficulty of discussing difficulty. And, of course, Pat managed to sneak in a Dark Souls reference.
